My Divine Note #48: The face of grief: 40 years later - John 11:33-36

February 20, 2010
John 11:33-36 33 Then Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34"Where have you laid him?" he asked. "Come and see, Lord," they replied. 35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

Saturday, February 7, 1970, will live in my memory forever. That was the day I found out that my father had passed away the previous night at the age of 36. My father’s passing changed our family forever. Not until I embarked on my spiritual journey, did I realize the high price that I paid by not dealing with my grief. In addition to the loss of my dad, my grandfather passed away on the day that I left home for my freshman year of college in Aug. 1975. His death changed the course of my education journey.

I spent my freshman year away at college, but returned home to attend college in my hometown because my grandmother’s health declined. I don’t think she ever r…

Call on God while he is near - Isaiah 55:6

My Divine Note #47 – February 5, 2010
The following Scriptures were inspired today. I will not add my comments and invite you to look up the Scriptures in a trustworthy concordance, so that you understand the right context. I am not surprised about this message because the Lord continues to inspire me with Isaiah 55:6, so I feel urgency in my ministry. I invite you to consider how you are sharing the gift of salvation that available to everyone right now.

God Protects His People. Psalm 46:1-3 1 God is our protection and our strength. He always helps in times of trouble. 2 So we will not be afraid even if the earth shakes, or the mountains fall into the sea, 3 even if the oceans roar and foam, or the mountains shake at the raging sea. Selah

Isaiah 55:6 So you should look for the Lord before it is too late; you should call to him while he is near.

Daniel 2:21 He changes the times and seasons of the year. He takes away the power of kings and gives their power to new kings. He gives wisdom to…

Divine Note #46 - Prayer - we are called to do it - Ephesians 6:18

Divine Note #46 – January 23, 2010

Prayer - we are called to do it

Ephesians 6:18 (CEV) Never stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God's people.
It was not planned as a day of prayer, but God wanted it to be a day of prayer for me. For the last several months I have been receiving more prayer requests than usual. My hospital ministry has also taken on a level of intensity. Then the tragedy in Haiti occurred and my soul was stirred. So I dropped my plans and said, “Father I will pray!” It turned out to be a day that I will never forget.

I used the A.C.T.S. (like Acts of the Apostles) method to get myself focused and prepared. One of the key things I did was update my prayer list. I also asked Facebook and Twitter friends to let me know if they needed prayer.

A = Adoration or worship
. I do not recall how much time I spent in abandoned worship, song, dance and praise, but it prepared me to talk to the King. I also…
