Evil is real and there will be no peace.

Revelation 12:9
The huge serpent was thrown down. That ancient snake, named Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, was thrown down to earth. Its angels were thrown down with it.

The devil and his minions lurk around every corner. I've read these Scriptures so many times (I mark my Bible to track), but today these Scriptures jumped out at me with an urgency.  Not only do we fight spiritual battles, but today we are seeing unprecedented evil play out ALL OVER THE WORLD - person to person and country to country – secular – religious, etc. We watch it on TV or see it on the internet all the time!

Don't keep your love and peace blinders on so tight that you fail to see reality.
Educate yourself about those who challenge God's authority. Don't be inclusive of those who would snare your good heart in an instant. Beware of false religions, prophets and lukewarm preachers!

1 John 4:2-3
This is how you can recognize God’s Spirit: Every person who declares that Jesus Christ has come as a human has the Spirit that is from God. But every person who doesn’t declare that Jesus Christ has come as a human has a spirit that isn’t from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist that you have heard is coming. That spirit is already in the world.

It's only going to get worse for those of you who keep God at church on Sundays and for those of you who don't bother to know His heart or The Scriptures!  Or for those of you who only listen to what is taught – those of you who go from Bible study to Bible study without getting direction from God.

Your pastors and teachers can't feed you what God may want to reveal to you. You need to read the Bible and know God. Don't depend on others.  You need God's word for YOU! Ask Him for revelation.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Of course we are human, but we don’t fight like humans. The weapons we use in our fight are not made by humans. Rather, they are powerful weapons from God. With them we destroy people’s defenses, that is, their arguments and all their intellectual arrogance that oppose the knowledge of God. We take every thought captive so that it is obedient to Christ.

Wake up church people! You need to understand what's happening! You can't continue to go along with sin because it's popular!

What are you doing to wage war against immorality?

What condition is your soul in?

Don't be devoured by the intellectuals, the touchy-feely-goodies, the wickedly savvy, mainstream culture and evil.

Open your eyes to the battles being waged all around you. Are you prepared?

Scriptures for life

Compiled December 2011
These are a few of my favorite Scriptures. I cannot live my life without God and his word. I keep a 3x5 wire bound note diary of verses that pop off the pages of my Bibles. This helps me in case I need to comfort someone with a specific verse. Start your own collection!

Comfort

Psalm 119:76 Comfort me with your love, as you promised me, your servant.
Job 4:4 Your words have comforted those who fell, and you have strengthened those who could not stand.
Strength

Psalm 18:1 I love you, LORD. You give me strength.
Psalm 29:11 The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.
Psalm 118:14 The Lord gives me strength and a song. He has saved me.
Isaiah 40:29 The LORD gives strength to those who are weary.
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your shelter, and his everlasting arms support you.
1 Corinthians 15:58 … don’t let anyone move you off the foundation of your faith.
Psalm 31:24 Be strong, all who wait with hope for the LORD, and let your heart be courag…

Sin on the journey

Before I know it, sin drips from my mouth and floods my mind. Oh the struggle.
Romans 7:22-23 I love to do God’s will so far as my new nature is concerned; but there is something else deep within me, in my lower nature, that is at war with my mind and wins the fight and makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. In my mind I want to be God’s willing servant, but instead I find myself still enslaved to sin. So you see how it is: my new life tells me to do right, but the old nature that is still inside me loves to sin. Oh, what a terrible predicament I’m in! Who will free me from my slavery to this deadly lower nature? Thank God! It has been done by Jesus Christ our Lord. He has set me free.
My current struggle is in not easily recognizing the extent of my sinfulness. I can easily preach it, but continuous righteous living eludes me.
Ouch. It hurts. I reveal this because I love the Lord with all my heart, mind and soul, but the sinner in me wins. It's the same struggle the A…
