Evil unseen by our human eyes based on Daniel 10:11-13

Daniel 10:11 (TLB) And I heard his voice—“O Daniel, greatly beloved of God,” he said, “stand up and listen carefully to what I have to say to you, for God has sent me to you.” So I stood up, still trembling with fear. 12 Then he said, “Don’t be frightened, Daniel, for your request has been heard in heaven and was answered the very first day you began to fast before the Lord and pray for understanding; that very day I was sent here to meet you. 13 But for twenty-one days the mighty Evil Spirit[a] who overrules the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the top officers of the heavenly army, came to help me, so that I was able to break through these spirit rulers of Persia.

These Scriptures confirm that the Lord honors our fasting and prayers, but do you live with awareness that there’s a spiritual battle waged in heaven by the devil and his evil-doers that impacts what happens on earth?  (Ephesians 6:12; Rev 12:7-9) God sent the angel Gabriel to Daniel, but he was blocked by spiritual evil to the point that God’s chief archangel, Michael, was dispatched to intervene.
Thankfully, the devil’s fallen angels are limited by God in what they can do (Job 1:12, 2:6). So while the evil spirit could block the angel who was sent to help Daniel, it could not prevent God’s plan from unfolding.
We must be on guard at all times by putting on the full spiritual armor available from our Lord (Ephesians 6:13-18). Don’t be na├»ve in spiritual matters; God calls us to become mature Christians (Hebrews 5:12-14) who can wage battles effectively as evil continues to lurch in the world, our country, outside our doors and inside our homes.

Scriptures for life

Compiled December 2011
These are a few of my favorite Scriptures. I cannot live my life without God and his word. I keep a 3x5 wire bound note diary of verses that pop off the pages of my Bibles. This helps me in case I need to comfort someone with a specific verse. Start your own collection!

Comfort

Psalm 119:76 Comfort me with your love, as you promised me, your servant.
Job 4:4 Your words have comforted those who fell, and you have strengthened those who could not stand.
Strength

Psalm 18:1 I love you, LORD. You give me strength.
Psalm 29:11 The Lord gives his people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace.
Psalm 118:14 The Lord gives me strength and a song. He has saved me.
Isaiah 40:29 The LORD gives strength to those who are weary.
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your shelter, and his everlasting arms support you.
1 Corinthians 15:58 … don’t let anyone move you off the foundation of your faith.
Psalm 31:24 Be strong, all who wait with hope for the LORD, and let your heart be courag…

Houston - we have a problem
I confess that before the 2016 presidential election, I wasn’t interested or concerned about participating in government or politics.
That changed on Nov. 8, 2016.
It’s now painfully clear how important it is to know what our elected politicians are doing on local, state and national levels. It’s time to shake ourselves out of complacency. We must be involved in directing our basic American rights, our policing, our healthcare, our financial lives and more. Our families depend on us.
The best way to do this is to get to know your elected officials and to vote.
Consider running for office or supporting someone you think has the gifts to be a politician. Our families are in crisis, our healthcare is in crisis, immigrant families are in danger and law enforcement may not be serving the interests of people of color   We need people who serve the interests of the majority of our communities
These are my recommendations: Get together with your family, friends and…
