Sharing God’s Word – February 2014

These Scriptures touched my heart during February. I shared them with family, friends and, now you. Take time from your busy life to open your Bible or Bible app. Be random, be purposeful - just be filled with God’s word. Learn to go straight to His word. The more you open the Good Book and ask the Lord for understanding, the more it will miraculously open up for you. My personal notes follow each Scripture.

1 Chronicles 29:11 NCV - The glory of God
Lord, you are great and powerful.
You have glory, victory, and honor.
Everything in heaven and on earth belongs to you.
The kingdom belongs to you, Lord;
you are the ruler over everything.

2 Corinthians 5:17 TLB - We become all new
When someone becomes a Christian,
he becomes a brand new person inside.
He is not the same anymore.
A new life has begun!

2 Corinthians 5:18 Voice – We are to bring others back
All of this is a gift from our Creator God,
who has pursued us and brought us into
a restored and healthy relationship with
Him through the Anointed.
And He has given us the same mission,
the ministry of reconciliation,
to bring others back to Him.

Psalm 119:5 – That I would be faithful
Oh, that every part of my life
would remain in line with
what You require!

Romans 8:37 – Oh His love
But no matter what comes,
we will always taste victory
through Him who loved us.

Psalm 33:9 – He rules
He spoke, and it happened.
He commanded, and it appeared.

Psalm 147:3 – He knows our hearts
He binds their wounds,
heals the sorrows of their hearts.

Romans 5 – To know You, Father
2 Jesus leads us into a place of radical grace
where we are able to celebrate
the hope of experiencing God’s glory.
3 And that’s not all.
We also celebrate in seasons of suffering
because we know that when we suffer
we develop endurance, which shapes our characters.
4 When our characters are refined,
we learn what it means to
hope and anticipate God’s goodness.

1 Corinthians 6:17 – Oh to know You
But when you are joined with the Lord,
you become one spirit with Him.

Isaiah 58:11 – You are my life
The Eternal One will never leave you;
He will lead you in the way
that you should go.
When you feel dried up and worthless,
God will nourish you and give you strength.
And you will grow like a garden
 lovingly tended;
you will be like a spring
whose water never runs out.

Psalm 63:6 – Thoughts of You
Often at night I lie in bed and remember You,
meditating on Your greatness till morning
smiles through my window.

Isaiah 26 – Focus on You
3 You will keep the peace, a perfect peace,
for all who trust in You, for those
who dedicate their hearts and minds to You.
4 So trust in the Eternal One forever,
for He is like a great Rock—strong,
stable, trustworthy, and lasting.

Psalm 8:1 – You are King
O Lord our God,
the majesty and glory of your name
fills all the earth and overflows the heavens.

1 John 2:17 – The glory of forever
And this world is fading away, and these evil,
forbidden things will go with it,
but whoever keeps doing the will of God will live forever.
John 1 – Faith without sight
17 The law was given through Moses,
but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
18 No one has ever seen God.
But God the only Son is very close to the Father,
and he has shown us what God is like.

Psalm 136:26 – Your love revives me
Let your heart overflow
with praise to the True God of heaven,
for His faithful love lasts forever.

Psalm 117 – Your love is all I need

Praise him, all the peoples of the earth.
2 For he loves us very dearly,
and his truth endures.
Praise the Lord.
Colossians 4:2 – Keep thankfulness in mind
Pray, and keep praying.
Be alert and thankful when you pray.

2 Samuel 7 – The amazing things You do
20 “What more can I say to you, Lord God,
since you know me, your servant, so well!
21 You have done this great thing because
you said you would and
because you wanted to,
and you have let me know about it.
22 How great you are, Lord God!
We have never heard of any other God like you.
And there is no other God.

I mean that I want us to help each other
 with the faith we have.
Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you.

Keep my eyes from gazing upon worthless things,
and give me true life according to Your plans.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 – Wisdom in action
Stay calm; mind your own business;
do your own job. You've heard all this from
us before, but a reminder never hurts.

James 1 KJV – Stop the bad, remember God
21 Wherefore lay apart
all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness,
and receive with meekness the engrafted word,
which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word,
and not hearers only,
deceiving your own selves.

Matthew 9:13 (NIRV) – Don’t show off
Go and learn what this means,
‘I want mercy and not sacrifice.’ (Hosea 6:6)
I have not come to get those
who think they are right with God
to follow me.
I have come to get sinners to follow me.”

Psalm 27:14 (NIRV) – Be patient
Wait for the Lord.
Be strong and don’t lose hope.
Wait for the Lord.

Romans 2:4 (NCV) – I remember Your kindness
He has been very kind and patient,
waiting for you to change,
but you think nothing of his kindness.

that God is kind to you
so you will change your hearts and lives.

He is my strength, and He is the reason I sing;
He has been there to save me in every situation.

Love puts up with anything and everything
that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what.

1 Peter 2:17 MSG – It’s not about me
Treat everyone you meet with dignity.

Isaiah 46:4 – My retirement security
And when you are old,
I will still be there, carrying you.
When your limbs grow tired,
your eyes are weak,
And your hair a silvery gray,
I will carry you as I always have.
I will carry you and save you.

When it hurts to care – Psalm 31:7

When it hurts to care – Psalm 31:7 Psalm 31:7 I will be glad and rejoice in your unfailing love, for you have seen my troubles, and you care about the anguish of my soul. One of God’s gifts to me is the ability to care about and pray for those who are ill. But right now, my mother is at the end of her life, and another key person in my life recently received bad health news. I also follow the Facebook journey of a courageous 12-year old girl, Jessie Rees ,  who suffered from two inoperable brain tumors. She passed away a few days ago. I am sad. But it’s interesting that in my sadness, I’ve come to appreciate how God works my faith steps. Before I decided that God’s purpose for me was greater than my own purpose, I had a hard time being close to people because it hurt that they might die or leave me. God opened my understanding (and healed me) so that I could come to terms with that and step into the gifts of compassion he planned for me. I started to feel that familiar hurt e

Moments with God: When all you can do is cry. Luke 7:36-40

July 7, 2013 Remember the story of the woman who poured oil over the feet of Jesus, wept and kissed him? Luke 7:36-40 The Voice Luke 7:36-40 The Voice translation  Once a Pharisee named Simon invited Jesus to be a guest for a meal. Picture this: Just as Jesus enters the man’s home and takes His place at the table, a woman from the city—notorious as a woman of ill repute—follows Him in. She has heard that Jesus will be at the Pharisee’s home, so she comes in and approaches Him, carrying an alabaster flask of perfumed oil. Then she begins to cry, she kneels down so her tears fall on Jesus’ feet, and she starts wiping His feet with her own hair. Then she actually kisses His feet, and she pours the perfumed oil on them. That's how I felt.  Yesterday I had a memorable “point in time.”  My ear tuned to a melody:  “ The King of Heaven’s Armies is right here by my side . “   Tears trickled down my cheeks unexpectedly. The Lord knows my real heart (and your rea
