Which do you prefer? Religion or Relationship? Mark 7:1-23 (NLT)

Jesus Teaches about Inner Purity
1 One day some Pharisees and teachers of religious law arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus. 2 They noticed that some of his disciples failed to follow the Jewish ritual of hand washing before eating. 3 (The Jews, especially the Pharisees, do not eat until they have poured water over their cupped hands,[a] as required by their ancient traditions. 4 Similarly, they don’t eat anything from the market until they immerse their hands[b] in water. This is but one of many traditions they have clung to—such as their ceremonial washing of cups, pitchers, and kettles.[c])
5 So the Pharisees and teachers of religious law asked him, “Why don’t your disciples follow our age-old tradition? They eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony.”

Philippians 2:1-5 Imitating Christ's Humility
1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by…

Divine Note #37 – September 14, 2009

Life just doesn’t work until Jesus is #1 in your life - Isaiah 65:24
I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking to me about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!
This Divine Note goes out to lift anyone who reads it and needs to feel peace and joy in their life. I was blown away by Pastor Paul’s sermon on A Man Named Jesus and the title of this note is taken from one of his quotes. I’ve often thought how brilliant of God to become human so that we could relate to Him on our own level. There’s no other religion or god on our planet that compares to Christianity because we have Christ who knows what we feel before we even say it. He knows how happy, sad or indifferent our day is before we even say a word. He’s been there through every sad and happy moment of our lives.

Lately I’ve been talking about how wonderful it is to walk with God in the good times because we can bet that we will want to walk with H…
