Waiting for God

1 Kings 17:7 Some time later the brook dried up because there had been no rain in the land. 8 Then the word of the   Lord   came to him: 9 Go at once… There will be times when the drought simply settles into life. It makes itself at home. The hollowness of nothingness – it’s a difficult season. Things dry up. Time stands still. Stillness turns the clock. Time continues. No. God will not forget you. Wait. But listen.

My Divine Notes - Don’t be afraid, trust me. Mark 5:37

March 26, 2012 Mark 5:37 Jesus ignored their comments and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me.” A stirring in my soul points to my greater need for the Lord’s presence. I need God. I need God so much. There isn’t a new crisis to report. Things are as stable as they can be right now, and my soul yearns for a deeper walk with God. I feel as if I’ve graduated to the next level, but that level requires total surrender…commitment. My walk with God has taken new turns, new twists, and new flavors – all very different from what I thought possible. Not that I would put God in a “possible” box.   ·         The things I thought possible or what I thought I wanted are no longer important. ·         The walk with God is more intense, more lovingly demanding. I don’t always want to go. ·         The things I thought I knew for sure are not for sure. · ...

I am thankful for God’s wisdom - 1 Corinthians 1:19, 20, 21, 25

November 4, 2011 1 Corinthians 1:19, 20, 21, 25 19 Scripture says, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise. I will reject the intelligence of intelligent people.” 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the persuasive speaker of our time? Hasn't God turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense? 21 The world with its wisdom was unable to recognize God in terms of his own wisdom. So God decided to use the nonsense of the Good News we speak to save those who believe. 25 God's nonsense is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength. At 17, I thought that I had all the wisdom anyone could ever want. The pattern continued throughout my life. I confused personal drive, intelligence, personality, savvy-ness and even my gift of empathy and caring with wisdom. I gained lots of college knowledge, mind knowledge, business knowledge and I confused insightful living with wisdom. The people around me thought I had wisdom. I thought...

A rapid response - Job 12:10

June 4, 2011   Job 12:10 For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being. I didn’t want this day to pass without writing down the things that the Lord showed me. I’m no stranger when it comes to watching those I love get sick, suffer and die. I was 12 when my dad died. My grandparents died while I was in my teens and twenties. There’s something wrenching about watching a parent suffer. It’s especially sad to see my mother so ill. Mom is suffering, there’s no question about it. Last night within a few minutes, I watched the hospital’s monitor as several of her vital sign numbers took a plunge.   I watched the lead nurse and assistant start scrambling. This scene is familiar to me since it has been happening frequently since February. Within seconds, the room was filled with the white and blue coats of the Rapid Response Team. They were on a mission to revive my mom. They graciously asked if I wanted to leave the room, but I declined ...

Divine Note #61 - When God gives you an answer - Habakkuk 2:2 & Psalm 102:18

Written Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, Posted Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 Habakkuk 2:2 The LORD replies: “Write down the message I am showing you in a vision. Write it clearly on the tablets you use. Then a messenger can read it and run to announce it.” Psalm 102:18 This will be written for a later generation, and a newly created people will praise the LORD; When you aren’t used to hearing from God, it’s easy to chalk things up to “good luck” or maybe you “were at the right place at the right time.” I have learned to write everything down that is inspired by God. Whether he brings something to my mind, when a Scripture jumps off the pages of my Bible or when he gives me messages through other people, I write everything down! I always advise people to write the things that God has done in their life, to be prepared for those times in our lives when things are not going well. A written record will enable you to remember the good things that God has done in your life. Journaling also helps ...

Divine Note #60 - Do you believe that God responds? Habakkuk 1:5

Divine Note #60 –Written on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 posted Dec. 3, 2010 Habakkuk 1:5 The Lord replies: “Look at the nations. Watch them. Be totally amazed at what you see. I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe. You would not believe even if someone told you about it.” Think about your spiritual senses. Is your awareness of God strong enough so that you know when he responds to your prayers? God is always working in our lives, but sometimes we focus on those things we want instead of what God is trying to tell us. In this Scripture, God responds to Habakkuk’s questions.  Our God is a God of miracles – he has unlimited power and he can use it to answer prayers that are within his will for you and me. Do you believe that God answers prayer? Do you believe that God does great things? Yes! Our God is an awesome God and he can change your life and mine in less than a second. Anticipate that God will answer your prayers. Big God Hugs, Blanca
