My Divine Devotions: Life in God’s will

1 John 5:14 We can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will.

Learning to obey God’s will opens doors that the human mind cannot understand in the natural. But, therein is our human challenge: wanting God’s will. For if wanting God’s will means hardship or unpleasantness, how can our hearts want the will of God?

Yet the will of God is perfect for our lives. A life lived in God’s will is the most effective, powerful and peaceful. God’s will allows us to be effective in living a life of purpose. God’s will allows us to live a life that is powerful in our mission fields. God’s will allows us to live a peaceful life amid storms.

Want God’s perfect will.

Sweet Sixteen

Today is my spiritual birthday – the date that changed my entire life.  It’s the before and after life changing date when my eyes were  opened to the divineness of God. I’ve been on an exhilarating and sometimes uncomfortable journey  full of experiences I never imagined I could or want to handle. But the best part of my journey is how God expanded my closed “religious”  mind and views. The knowledge I have is but a drop in the cosmic (heavenly) bucket; and I’ve learned that I’m in no position to impose my views on  people of different faiths or no faiths. There’s room at the table for all of us. We are all welcome and loved! There’s always room at the table. My life has been about constantly getting myself out of comfort zones  I prefer…always hesitating but drawn to the next adventure. That fateful, ever evolving connection to God has powered everything  about my life. It has taken me from the depths of despair to the heights of love;  from the holy experience of helping loved ones

Christmas invades the world and impacts the calendar

Old Testament Scriptures proclaim the birth of Jesus. His birth as a human is   central to the redemption of humankind. Genesis 49:10 The scepter will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until He whose right it is comes and the obedience of the peoples belongs to Him. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Micah 5:2 But you, Bethlehem of Ephrathah, of the clans of Judah, are no poor relation— From your people will come a Ruler who will be the shepherd of My people, Israel, Whose origins date back to the distant past, to the ancient days. Psalm 72:11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him; All nations shall serve Him. Isaiah 9:7  His
