Divine Note #38 – September 21, 2009 Matthew 9:36 (NLT) 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.John 10:14-15 (NIV) 14 "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 1 Peter 5:2-4 (NIV) 2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. Philippians 2:1-5 Imitating Christ's Humility 1 If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy c...

Who are you going to bless? 2 Samuel 22:2-3 & Psalm 18:2 (

Divine Note #32 Who are you going to bless? 2 Samuel 22:2-3 (NLT)2 He sang: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; 3 my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence. Psalm 18:2 (NLT) The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. Dear Readers, As my daughter prepares to go to college, one of the ways I will stay connected is by texting a Scripture to her each day. I also post the passage on my Facebook wall and Twitter for all my “friends” to read so I can be accountable for doing it each day. I posted the Scriptures quoted above to her over the weekend, but I didn’t realize that they: 1) were both from David who was asking God to protect him and 2) would be the basis of this Divine Note until I went into the Bible to review them. Go...

Let God meet all your needs - Psalm 103:1-3

Divine Note #27 - July 6, 2009 Let God meet all your needs  Psalm 103:1-3 (NLT) 1 Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. 2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. I recently learned that another one of my girlfriends is going through health issues. As usual, I hadn’t seen her in a while and I almost cancelled our lunch plans because I had overbooked my schedule. As I sat listening to her story, I realized that God had put me at the place where I needed to be, at the time I needed to be there and my job was to be His ears and heart. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2). So I sat across from her listening to the concern in her voice. My job was only to listen and offer practical assistance. We had a wonderful lunch and I told her about the amazing things God was doing...

Let God meet all your needs - Matthew 6:8

Divine Note #26 – June 29, 2009 Let God meet all your needs Therefore, don’t be like them. For your father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 6:8 It was hard to ignore a very popular entertainer’s very sad death this week. I followed the news mostly through social media and then I turned the TV on late in the evening and was touched with comments made by a popular author. He talked about how the entertainer dealt unsuccessfully with unmet needs as a result of sad things that happened in his life. It was eye-opening for me because God has been talking to my heart about how to deal with unmet needs through Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermons all week. In previous notes, I’ve discussed how we deny issues, so we try to avoid the consequences by riding the merry-go-round of strongholds until we hit the bottom. As in the parable of the lost son, many times our deep level of misery is of our own making (Luke 15:13). God has placed in all of us have a need to belong, ...

Divine Note #24 - Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Isaiah 55:6

Divine Note #24 – June 15, 2009 Seek the Lord while you can find him. Call on him now while he is near. Isaiah 55:6 (New Living Translation) Dear Sisters, Each week the message becomes louder and clearer in my heart. We must become effective disciples for Christ. We are His hands, ears and feet while we are on Earth. You will not fulfill your God-given mission on this planet until you step out to serve others and share how your life was transformed. So…this Divine Note is to encourage you to cry out to God, so that you can feel comfortable having an open dialog with Him. Once you open that communication with God, it changes your life in a huge way. When you cry out to Him, it establishes a powerful intimacy that allows you to walk in His power. When you develop the ability to cry out to God, you will be empowered to pray out loud on behalf of your children, spouse, family, friends and all the people around the world who are hurting or who do not know Him! You may be uncomfortable with ...
